For the past 20 years in the Commonwealth, we have operated a segregated health care system under medical assistance, carving out behavioral health run at the county level but physical health overseen at the state level.

I’m happy to announce my appointment to serve a third consecutive term as majority chairman of the House Game and Fisheries Committee. Interacting with the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) and Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) are the primary responsibilities of the committee, which will receive an annual report from each commission in early February and meet publicly to review that report.

HARRISBURG – The bicameral, bipartisan Legislative Audit Advisory Commission (LAAC), chaired by Rep. Mark Keller (R-Perry/Cumberland), today voted to accept the audit report of the Pennsylvania General Assembly’s finances for the 2017-18 fiscal year as conducted by an independent certified public accounting firm.

HARRISBURG – The Public Pension Management and Asset Investment Review Commission today released its report, which includes recommendations to improve the transparency and management of investment expenses and returns of the Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS) and the Pennsylvania State Employees’ Retirement System (SERS).

WHAT: Rep. Steve Barrar (R-Chester/Delaware), chairman of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, will lead an event hosted by Gold and Blue Star Mothers to remember the fallen, prisoners of war and those missing in action. The ceremony will also honor those who are currently serving in the nation’s armed forces.

WHAT: Rep. Sheryl Delozier (R-Cumberland) will join Gov. Tom Wolf and John Wetzel, secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, in a panel discussion on Pennsylvania’s new clean slate law, as part of “Criminal Justice Reform, The Road Ahead,” sponsored by The Washington Post. Delozier authored Act 56 of 2018, which made Pennsylvania the first state in the nation to seal nonviolent criminal records after a decade.
